What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is related to many ancient forms of  healing and massage centered on the feet. Each part of the foot has been found to correspond to a part of the body. The left foot representing the left side of the body and the right foot representing the right. Half way down each foot a line can be drawn which would correspond to the waistline of the body. The organs in the upper part of the body have their reflex areas in the upper part of the foot, and those on the lower part of the body have their reflex areas in the lower part of the foot. Thus if the right kidney is located on the right side of the body, its reflex point would be found on the right foot
.
All parts of the body are operated by messages carried through neural pathways. Stimulation of sensory nerve endings sends information to the spinal cord and brain. The brain and spinal cord send instructions to the organs and muscles. The neural pathways are both living tissue and electrical channels, and can be blocked or impinged in many ways. When neural pathways are impaired, nerve function is impeded. Delivery of messages is distorted or even totally halted and body’s processes operate at less than optimum functionality. A reflexology treatment stimulates more than 7000 nerves and facilitates the opening and clearing of neural pathways. Thus the body is rebalanced.
